A chat with John
Me and the team had a meeting with John Fairlamb one of our lecturers and we discussed how we could push the film along further. John explained how the passage way between the Edward Boyle and the E.G Stoner building was open till around 1 in the morning so if we could get some of our friends to come when it wasn't busy and get them all on their phones then this would be ideal. He also mentioned a film that i should watch: Her. In this film the main character falls in love with the automated girl inside his phone. She knows him better than anyone else and he can be who ever he wants to be to her. This little nudge from John combined with a night of brainstorming with a friend lead me to stumble across the idea that perhaps the girl that he goes on a date with isn't real but a figment of his subconscious who is really telling him to get off his phone and react with her. Perhaps to add sinister effect she keeps glitching out or morphing into Siri voice. At the end it finishes with him hand in hand with the girl talking to her via speech concluding with the statement that he's liberated from technology yet the only way that he has managed to do this in this society is by losing his mind. These are all just ideas that i have posed to Alice which in practice may be quite tricky to include and the depth of our original script is already very good so perhaps it would be too much but its worth thinking about.
